What: 1959 Topps #469 - Hustler Banks Wins MVP Award
Where: COMC (Black Friday)
How Much?: $3.98
Why?: I'm really trying to step up my efforts towards completing the '59 Topps baseball set, and on Black Friday weekend I made a nice step forward with this Ernie Banks card. The corners aren't exactly sharp but with good centering and solid overall visual appeal this one felt like a steal at less than $4.
This has to be one of the earliest play-at-the-plate cards in existence, right? I've always enjoyed cards that depict a specific moment, season, championship or award so this is one I would have gravitated towards even had I not been chasing this set.

When it comes to blogging... my timing is terrible. I'll see things on ESPN
or on other blogs that inspire a post, but I don't have scans ready to go.

Stunning acquisition. Fantastic photography. $4 seems like a steal.
Great card featuring one of the weirder Cubs uniforms. It was a one year only roadie (1957).
Nice find! $4 for Mr. Cub is a heck of a deal.
p.s. I checked your wantlists and I have at least 10 cards you need, not counting a buyback that may or may not be an upgrade for you.
