Today is my 29th birthday. I thought it would be interesting to see which MLB or NHL players share my birthday. In terms of hockey players, probably the most successful guy to be born on September 2nd is Mario Tremblay, who enjoyed a fairly successful career. In 12 years, all spent with the Montreal Canadiens, he racked up 584 points and was a member of the back-to-back-to-back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion teams from 1976-1979. I have a couple of his cards but don't have a scan handy.
For baseball players who share my birthday, there isn't really anyone of note. The longest career to date of any player born on September 2nd belongs to this guy:
Rich played for 15 seasons between 1995 and 2009, the year this card was released. He hit .275 with 186 home runs and 756 RBI lifetime, and was an All-Star in 2001.
There are a couple of other athletes of note who were born on September 2nd, boxer Lennox Lewis and some football player you may have heard of:
Yup, that's about it.

When it comes to blogging... my timing is terrible. I'll see things on ESPN
or on other blogs that inspire a post, but I don't have scans ready to go.

As far as hockey goes, looks like we share a birthday with Jason Blake, Danny Sabourin, Stéphane Matteau, and Glen Sather.
