This week I'm showcasing another trio of Chicago Blackhawks autographs from the 2012-13 Panini Classics Signatures set.
On defense, Doug Wilson. He's among the best defensemen in the history of the franchise, and probably the best offensive defenseman ever to wear a 'Hawks sweater. Doug holds most of the offensive records for a Blackhawks defenseman, both career and single season. He played in 900+ games with the franchise, and even won a Norris Trophy. He went on to become the first captain of the San Jose Sharks, and is now the GM of that club.
In goal, Jeff Hackett. Jeff actually played on one of those early San Jose teams with Doug Wilson. He played for quite a few other teams during his NHL career as well, but spent the more seasons with Chicago than any other team (even if he was Ed Belfour's backup for much of that time).
Finally, at center, Hall-of-Famer Denis Savard! Denis was drafted by the Blackhawks (#3 overall), played the majority of his career with the Blackhawks (all or parts of 13 of 17 NHL seasons), and is a team ambassador now in his post-playing days. I'd imagine a Savard auto would be pretty high on the list for 'Hawks collectors. 7 30+ goal seasons, 3 40+ goal seasons, 5 100+ point campaigns including a monster 131-point 1987-88 season. All in all, Savard racked up 1,338 points in his 1,196 game Hall-of-Fame career.
These three bring my count of autographs from this set to 25 and growing...
I can't remember what I was searching for but I found out that Jeff Hackett had the second best save percentage in the NHL from 1994/95 to 99/00. And yet he was only a .500 goalie during that time.
ReplyDeleteNice trio!
ReplyDeleteJGBlargh, that's a crazy Hackett stat, I would have never guessed that in a million years.
