Another great card from the 1993 Upper Deck set that I stumbled across only recently. I love the shot of a young Tim in the midst of throwing his infamous pitch, with the out-of-focus Pirates outfielder and Wrigley ivy in the background.
Who would've thought that Wakefield would still be around 17 years later! This guy was drafted as a position player. He only developed the knuckler and attempted pitching when he came to the realization that he would never make a major league roster playing the field. Fast forward to 2010 and he's still chugging away, in fact he is now 3rd all time in wins for the Red Sox, behind only Cy Young and Roger Clemens!
