For today's post, here's 5 random cards I stumbled across while cleaning off my card desk...
We'll start things off with a sweet 1975-76 Topps Marcel Dionne. Just a great looking card from a set that for whatever reason I don't have much of. When I spotted this in the dollar bin at my local hobby shop a while back I knew it was coming home. The card's in great condition, and Marcel is in the top 5 all-time for NHL scoring.
Here's a Krejci game-used card that I actually purchased about two years ago for just a couple bucks. I kind of forgot about this one until stumbling across it. I don't really collect Krejci much anymore, so this card doesn't excite me as much as it did when I bought it. Maybe I'll end up trading it away someday but for now I'll keep it around I guess.
This might be my most colorful Will Clark card. It's one of those great Ring Leader inserts from 1995 Stadium Club. If you look to the right portion of the card you can see that this is the even more rare "Members Only" parallel. If I remember right I think I ponied up an Abraham Lincoln (with free shipping) for this one.
Here's my favorite card of the post. I'm still making slow but steady progress accumulating these one-per-box yellow parallels from 2009-10 Champ's hockey. I couldn't think of a much better subject to get the yellow parallel card of than Mario. This one books at $15 according to my latest Beckett, but I was the sole bidder and took home my copy for $.99 plus a couple bucks shipping.
Here's the last card for today, a late-career Bernie Parent from 1978-79 Topps. I think this is actually his final card if I'm not mistaken, although he does appear on some stat leader cards in the 1979-80 sets. You can tell Bernie's a little older here for sure. I chose this one from a shelf of cards at the hobby shop that you could pick one free card from if you spent $10 or more. What can I say, there weren't a whole lot of good hockey or baseball options and this Parent was mint...

I love that Ring Leader insert set. It's one of my saved searches on ebay. One of these days, I hope to add a reasonably priced set to my collection.
The Dionne card looks like an airbrush job, but did he ever actually wear 12 in LA?
