Keeping it rolling with the Topps Now Red Sox cards, tonight I've got a pair of cards featuring one of the most promising young players in all of baseball. Mookie Betts is putting together one of the best seasons by a lead-off hitter that I can ever remember witnessing.
With just under 60 games to go, Mookie has already clubbed 21 home runs, and the next run he drives in will be his 70th. As the catalyst of a powerful Red Sox offense, he's already scored 82 runs and contributed 28 doubles, 5 triples and 17 stolen bags. Easy to see why he was named an All-Star for the first time this year at age 23.
This particular tandem of cards results from a two game stretch as the calendar turned to June in which Betts clubbed 5 home runs. On May 31st he became the first Red Sox lead-off hitter to hit 3 in a game...
...and the next day he swatted another pair. I'm obviously extremely biased, but I think this might be my favorite Topps Now card yet. A great photograph of the two brightest young stars for the Sox in celebration in front of the beautiful Camden Yards warehouse. Topps Now at its finest if you ask me!

You may be biased, but that is a terrific celebration shot - it makes for a supremely appealing card. All Betts are off when it comes to Mookie!
Great cards! Love that Mookie. Why do I think we'll be seeing that as an "action variation" in the near future...
