Recently I picked up my very first Starting Lineup card, Wade Boggs from the 1988 set:
I have to say, for a card that came with an action figure, and that's now over 25 years old, it doesn't look half bad. I'm guessing this was an unlicensed set given that the photograph chosen just happens to completely obscure Boggs' helmet and jersey, but then again a nice large team logo is present, so who knows...

What better way to celebrate your 1000th game than a custom jersey for the
warm-up?
Other than actually being allowed to wear it during the game.

I LOVE Starting Lineup cards!! My grandmother bought me all the '88 Mets figures/cards for Christmas that year. Against my dad's wishes, I busted 'em all open and played with the figures. (I guess he figured they would be worth a lot of money if I kept them in the blister packaging.)
Anyhow, I think these cards were officially licensed because all the logos on the caps and jersey are visible on the ones I have.
That Boggs is pretty awesome, by the way!
Oddly I just picked up what I think is my first one myself just last weekend. The 1990 Cal Ripken.
And they are licensed, the team logo wouldn't be there otherwise.
The 1988 SLU card design is one of my favorites. Excellent pickup!
