Managed a quick stop by my local hobby shop today. Was in a baseball kind of mood, plus needed some cards for outgoing trade packages, so I decided to hit the baseball quarter boxes. 75% of what I picked up is headed right back out the door, but here are 4 from the small stack that I decided to keep for myself...
I don't recall ever having seen this one before, but the imagery is fantastic. I remember not being a big fan of the Goodwin Champions set when it came out, but cards like this could definitely get me to change my mind.
The other cards in today's post are junk wax era gems. Cards I couldn't believe I didn't have already, but I didn't. At least that's been remedied now...
First up is a nice Rickey Henderson from 1993 Upper Deck SP. Worth a quarter for that flat-top alone.
Next, the Ken Griffey Jr All-Star caricature card from 1991 Score. I know what some of you are thinking...that I could've gotten this one cheaper. I know, but I've always thought these were fun, they remind me of being a kid. Besides, if it gets to the point where I'm scrutinizing whether or not I could have saved money on a card I paid a quarter for, then I'm no longer enjoying the hobby.
Last but certainly not least for today, the iconic final Topps card of George Brett from the '94 Topps flagship set. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I didn't have a copy of this classic prior to today. An awesome card to say the least, but the best part is the back:
HOF career stats!
Man, I love quarter boxes...

Plus pine tar, great selections
Not bad! I like big head cards. Hey Rickey Henderson followed by a big head card. There's something there.
That Ichiro card is dy-no-mite!
That's definitely one of my Top 5 Ichiro cards. And, aside from the '73 Topps Roberto Clemente, the Brett might well be the greatest sunset card ever.
Agree with Nick. That Ichiro is in my top 5 as well.
