From one of the greatest sets of the 1950s, it's Hoyt Wilhelm courtesy of 1956 Topps! True, he's undoubtedly one of the easier ones on the checklist to acquire, but a HOFer from this iconic release in this condition was almost too good to be true at this price point. Hoyt's a fun guy to collect, and this one will come in handy if and when the day comes when I start to pursue the '56 set in earnest.
Back's in great shape, and I absolutely love that Wilhelm's famed knuckleball is referenced in the cartoon!
Not much more to say about this one, another satisfying COMC pick-up in the books! I'll be back tomorrow with the conclusion of my football card experiment. Until then!

Originally a PC guy of mine, but now doing double duty as a Birthday binder guy too.
Nice card! The blue tinge to Hoyt's baseball cap almost makes it seem like he's in the future, playing for the Mets.
