2020 has pretty much sucked so far, but it's still the 30th anniversary year of my favorite Topps set of all time, and the first baseball set that I ever ripped packs of as a kid.
Continuing my year-long celebration of all that is 1990 Topps, I've got my latest hard-signed autograph from the set to show off today...
Willie Wilson of the Royals graced his '90 issue with a large, bold signature here. Love the penmanship, those W's really have some style points. This one has been waiting for its time on the blog since last year, when I scooped it up off of eBay for $10.70 with free shipping.
1990 was Willie's final season with the Royals, ending a stint in Kansas City that began all the way back in the 1976 season!
Wilson was known for his speed and defense. As you can see, he was much more likely to hit you a triple than a home run.
A really cool addition to my collection for around $10, and a unique way to continue enjoying the 1990 set. I'm up to 14 cards now in my Topps Baseball Autographs of My Youth collection, which you can see here if you're interested.
I'll be back with more cards this week, until then thanks as always for stopping by!

That 1980 stat line aligns nicely with the team's performance.
A super exciting player in 1979.
Nice card. Wilson was the man. I was always into speedy guys who could hit for average over strong guys who struck out a lot.
You're building a nice collection of 1990 Topps autographs there! Completely agree with Fuji about the speedy guys who could hit for average.
I was a big fan of Wilson; he grew up in the same area I did, in a city in fact that I ended up working in for a while. Lovely item.
